On Monday the 13th of February the Head Students went on a camp up at Aongatete Lodge with other leaders from different schools. There were leaders from: Kaimai School; Katikati Primary; Omokoroa Number One School; Omokoroa point school; Pahoia and Tauriko School. We did lots of team challenges like the confidence course, rock climbing and the pancake challenge.
At the start of the Pancake Challenge the teachers hid all of the ingredients and you went off in teams. You got given a map of the lodge and on the map were the numbers of the ingredients. When you had all of the ingredients you went to the kitchen and they gave you the milk and butter. Then you made your pancakes, once they were ready we got to eat them. They were yum!
For team challenges we played a variety of games like the Parana River Game. The Parana River Game is a game with two teams, one pink team and one blue team. The point of the game is to work as a team to get across the river, one team has blue lily pads and the other team has pink lily pads. Your group lines up behind the cones that are a couple metres away from each other, and has to cross the river. Your foot has to be touching a lily pad at all times, the first team to cross the finish line wins. We all had to work as team.
On the first day of camp we got to do some rock climbing. First we had to learn how to put our harnesses on and what a carabiner is. After we got into pairs, we started rock climbing. Each time we had to pull the rope tight so the person was stable.
